Photographed some of the dogs up for adoption at Last Hope K9 Rescue over in Newburyport today. Seven dogs in attendance but only six here because Lucy got a deposit before I even arrived. As always, if you are interested in any of the dogs here or learning more about adopting and/or fostering, all the info is on the LHK9 website. Note: some things are down this weekend as they are working on some updates. They are an all volunteer rescue organization so your patience is always very much appreciated!
The first little heart throb is Alex – a four month old Chihuahua and Terrier Mix. He’s deaf and visually impaired but that doesn’t slow him down. He had us in stitches as I tried to photograph him while he flipped around in endless circles. And it was so cold (damn you Mother Nature for not letting us have Spring in New England yet!) that we only had a few minutes outside before wrapping him back up in a towel and getting him back to the warmth of the store. His little snuggly sleeping portrait is my fave.
Everyone has a type. And mine is Mackie. OMG. A total BALL of energy but the most handsome guy ever. He’s a seven month old Pit Mix with “kisses for days” according to his awesome foster Mom, Krista. 😉
Sweet and super soft Caldwell is a Catahoula Mix and about seven months old. He loved saying hello to new friends big and small all afternoon with volunteer Claudia. <3
Next is Gallagher – AKA “G”- whose a six month Pit Mix currently being fostered right here in Newburyport with long time rock star foster Momma, Kristan.** Clearly a ladies man as he generously offered kisses to all who stopped to say hello.
A bit older but no less energy is Pastoria. Her age is approximately three years and she’s a gorgeous Shar pei and Pit mix.
And lastly this little face. So cute. Wobble is a four month old Hound Mix and, as you can see here, loves everyone he meets.
Thank you Judy at Just Dogs Newburyport for hosting again and a huge shout out to all the volunteers and handlers today too. You all rock and make this world a better place. <3
And of course to Jill whose here with Caldwell. Love this photo. xx
** Small rescue dog world serendipitous moment today when Kristan and I realized that our own rescue pups who go to Play All Day in Salisbury are an item! We had each been told about the “other dog” and that they were the cutest little couple. Looks like I now have some doggie in laws. Can’t wait for future playdates with Boss. xx
