Seattle Senior Photographer ~ Claire at Jack Block Park, West Seattle WA

I first met Claire and her family at their 2016 KLP Family Portrait Session nine years ago. Mom had suggested Jack Block Park for their shoot and I loved it immediately for not only all the diversity of backdrops but, of course, that sweeping view of the Seattle Skyline too. We have switched it up over the years but landed back there to bring it full circle for Claire’s Class of 2026 Senior Shoot. Of course the whole family came along too including the newest addition to their pack – sweet rescue pup Yogi! Loved that the jean jacket that she wore later in the session was her Dad’s from High School.

I shared a few sneak peeks of just Claire on our @klpseniorportraits Instagram page right after the session. Now here’s a few more of their collective faves that we narrowed down from their recent Viewing + Design Session too. Don’t miss the peek at their gorgeous new 30×40 Metal Print in the works for their living room mantel and one of their first KLP Family Portraits from 2016 at the end.

“The way you help heal the world is you start with your own family.” ~ Mother Teresa

The 30×40 Metal Print of the kids whimsically walking down the (now closed!) metal bridge at the park has been a signature piece on their mantel for the past nine years. So happy they decided to change it up with this fun family portrait of them all looking out on the iconic Seattle skyline. Zoom in to see Yogi up on the railing looking out too! #familyheirlooms

Seattle Photographer ~ No Kings Protest in Downtown Seattle WA

I took to the streets along with 70K others in Seattle, WA for the No Kings Protest on June 14, 2025. The crowd started gathering in the morning on Capitol Hill at Cal Anderson Park with the first speakers kicking off the event at 12PM. Thanks to the gracious Seattleites who don’t crowd too closely together, I was able to walk right up to the front row to see the day’s speakers including Seattle’s own badass Rep Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal. Any worries leading up to the day with “Special Forces” being brought in were quickly quelled as I wandered through the park capturing it all with my camera in hand. The energy was both positive and peaceful from the rally in the park to the 1.5 walk through downtown ending up at the iconic Space Needle. It was most definitely a good day to be out standing up for decency and democracy.

Equally as joyful was later that evening and the following days watching the footage from the other 2K+ protests around the country (and world) too. Final numbers of those attending nationwide vary (Alt National Park Service estimating more the 13 million!) but ultimately what matters most is that we showed up to exercise our First Amendment Right and have our collective voices heard.

Did you know: Oligarchies have taken over the US government three times before in the 1850s, the 1890s and the 1920s and in each case they overreached and regular folks took their government back.* Lots of work to do but this past weekend has given me a renewed reason to be hopeful. Boston Family Photographer ~ Sneak Peeks from Early Summer Session at Larz Anderson Park Brookline MA

We had a gorgeous night over at Larz Anderson Park this week for this multi-generational Family Session while the grandparents were in town for a visit. This was my first time shooting at this location so I headed in early to have time to walk the area and assess the light and backdrops. As you can see from these few sneak peeks, we found endless picturesque spots on our loop from the stone gazebo with the water reflections to a small meadow of vibrant buttercups. And we of course held the buttercups under our chins to see if there was a yellow reflection to see who liked butter! 😉

Fun fact: The real reason these flowers seem to shine with an intense glittering yellow has nothing to do with butter but about advertising the plants to insect pollinators from a great distance.

Beverly Engagement Photographer ~ Sneak Peeks from Lynch Park

Headed down to NYC today but had to share a few sneak peeks from Laura and Owen’s Engagement Session at Lynch Park last night! Always a fave location but with Spring in full bloom and a perfectly timed low tide it couldn’t have gotten any better for their shoot. So thankful for couples who kiss on command for me for over an hour too. 😉

Pro tip: There is no right or wrong time to book an Engagement Session. I’ve shot them with couples who have been together and engaged for over decade. They are perfect for simply celebrating and capturing your love story at this moment in time. I love and recommend these shoots because it also gives couples a chance to not only feel comfortable working with a photographer but allows for a more casual vibe together as the wedding day is usually more formal and always a whirlwind.

Northern England ~ The North Sea, Castles + Puffins

On my recent three week trip to the UK, one highlight of many was a stop in Northumberland where we stayed at the lovely Lindisfarne Inn for the night. From there we explored the Lindisfarne Castle on Holy Island (only accessible at low tide); the spectacular Bamburgh Castle which dates back to the 6th century; and, took a boat trip on the North Sea to the Farne Islands where we saw different bird species (including bucket list puffins!), seals and had gorgeous views back to the silhouetted castles and the stunning coastline. Fun fact: Puffins are generally considered to be monogamous and mate for life.

Disclaimer: I’m not a wildlife photographer and don’t have the lens for it so this is mostly a celebration of these sights and my travels in general.
