Boston Dog Photographer ~ Stand Up for Pits Laugh Boston

As the Bruins skated a few blocks away fighting for yet another hometown Championship, Boston won another title over at Laugh Boston setting a new record for funds raised at the two back to back Stand Up for Pits Foundation events on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. The events raised crucial funds for two Boston based rescues – The Pittie Stop Rescue ($5,317!) + PittieLove Rescue ($10,373!) – and another $8,500 in donations that went to the City of Boston’s Animal Control and the Humane Society and Shelter South Coast.

SUFP’s was founded nine years ago by Rebecca Corry whose passion and life mission is to end breed discrimination. She tours the country every year raising both money and awareness for dogs who rely on her voice and passion to bring them the justice and love they all deserve.

This was my second year shooting and attending the Boston event and, of course, my favorite part is meeting and photographing the lil adoptable velvet hippos who are also in attendance wooing the crowd with their sweet kisses and wiggly butts. Here’s a few highlights starting with two adoptable pibbles from The Pittie Stop Rescue: Miss Piggy (light tan and white nugget with orange leash) and Hope (gray with orange leash) who was found just a couple of weeks ago tied up and abandoned in the South End.

The next three dogs are available for adoption at PittieLove Rescue: Erma (tan and white chunk with pink bandana/#showstealer), Snoopy (black and white in blue top) who was also abandoned when his owner passed away, and Melody AKA Gracie (tan and white pink bandana) who was there with her (first time!) foster Momma. My week of non stop dog rescue work continues tomorrow 6/1 in Newburyport for the Last Hope K9 Adoption Event and then I head off to NYC to shoot and attend the SUFP event Sunday night a Gotham Comedy.
