So happy to be back photographing rescue dogs again. It’s one of the things I missed most this last year and half. Eager to get back at it and again feature the KLP Rescue Dog of the Month, I recently reached out to my friend Heidi founder of Rescue Inc. to see if she had any dogs who needed a little extra PR TLC and before I could finish she excitedly exclaimed: “Miss Piggy! You will love her!” If you’ve followed me over the years then you know I am a *huge* lover and advocate for pit bull breed dogs. So loving yet continually maligned, there is nothing sweeter than snuggling with a loyal and adorable rescued velvet hippo.
The second Miss Piggy stepped out of the door at her new foster home in Cambridge, she waddled over with the biggest smile and wet kisses with her little tail wagging and didn’t stop for the entire shoot.
Her story is not new. Like the endless stream of dogs coming up from the South, she was pulled in the 11th hour from a high kill shelter in Tennessee. She’s a four year old chunky little nugget who weighs about 54 lbs. If she had her choice she’d be a couch potato 24/7 so she’s the perfect fit for someone who wants a chill dog who doesn’t need endless activity to tire them out. She has no issues with other dogs while out and about on her (preferably) short walks but needs a furever home where she’s the only apple of her new family’s eye.
Here’s a few highlights from her special photo shoot and the link HERE to her bio to learn more about this sweet angel too. An update to her bio is that she is fully house trained now.
“I don’t care what you think of me unless you think I’m awesome. In which case, you are right.” ~ Miss Piggy
We definitely tired her out! 😉
Rescues couldn’t do what they do without a supportive animal loving village. A huge part of rescue work is fostering. Want to learn more about becoming a foster? Click HERE.
