There’s something especially meaningful about photographing a family in the place where their real life happens. This recent In-Home Newborn Session was a perfect example of that as this family welcomed in their adorable newest addition. There is of course no wrong time to photograph your new baby but if I had to pick the sweet spot I recommend two months – babies not only fill in a bit as they quickly grow but also have more connection with the world around them too.
We always block off three hours for these sessions so that we can take it slow and have plenty of time for diaper changes, baby feedings and snack time for older siblings. As you can see here, three year old big brother Otto absolutely crushed it. And two month old Piper was truly the dream baby who was happy just chilling on her own whether on the floor in a soft blanket or the crib in her nursery. Here are just a few sneak peeks to tide them all over until their Viewing + Design Session in the new year when the studio reopens. Happy Holidays Y’all! x
