Another action-packed, sold out Stand Up for Pits event this past Sunday in Tacoma, WA. Back in town for a second round of KLP in Seattle this fall and was thrilled to time it so that I could shoot and attend this final show of the SUFP Tour 2019. Over 10K worth of shelter supplies were donated (!!!) and both local rescues – Hello Pitty Rescue + Lucky Paws Rescue – and SUFP had what seemed to be endless silent auction items including a super sweet custom SUFP Cornhole Game (which sadly wouldn’t fit into my carry on.)
Three adorable velvet hippos from Hello Pitty Rescue were in attendance (the best part!) and all are looking for their forever homes. Wasabi is the first shown here in the blog with a yellow unicorn head band. He’s a bull dog and pibble mix and does NOT live up to his name. The opposite of spicy, he’s a super chill lil nugget who would love nothing better than an all-day snuggle on the couch. Next is nine month old Layla in the blue and white sweater whose tail wagged the entire time. How precious is the photo of her with the little toddler patting her head?! A total gem. Equally as lovable is Hazel who stole the show hanging on stage and giving kisses to all who came over to meet her. To find out more about any of these dogs and others looking for their foster and furever homes, please check out the Hello Pitty Rescue + Lucky Paws Rescue sites and follow them on social media.
Shout out to the hilarious Casey McLain + Cameron Mazzuca and the Tacoma Comedy Club for hosting the event. And, of course, to living Buddha Rebecca Corry for making this her life’s mission. Nothing better than a night of stand up comedy while raising money and awareness for these magical sentient beings. Can’t wait for the 10th Anniversary Tour 2020!
