Loving having a bit of winter downtime to catch up on some of my favorite work with local dog rescues and this past weekend we were over at Barewolf Brewery in Amesbury, MA photographing the hugely successful Sweet Paws Rescue Meet + Greet Event. The place was absolutely packed with seventeen adoptable dogs in attendance spending the afternoon meeting potential adopters. While my main focus is capturing portraits of the dogs and, at the events, showing them interacting with everyone including kids, I also wanted to give a huge shout out to ALL the volunteers who make these dog rescues so successful. It truly takes a village – transporters, fosters, admin, handlers, photographers, etc. – to get each of these dogs to a furever home. There are so many ways to get involved and it’s some of the most rewarding volunteer work I do. I also owe another big shout out to Jill, a junior at Essex Tech, who volunteered on Sunday too and helped me navigate the craziness.
