The Greenheads are coming! The Greenheads are coming! But unlike the pesky painful buggers who usurp our beautiful New England beaches for a few weeks every summer, these ones might just make you smile. Newburyport High School’s Art Department has partnered up with Newburyport ArtWalk for the kickoff of the Spring 2016 Season next Saturday April 23rd 11AM to 6PM. KLP stopped by the NHS today to check out the final day of production before April vacation and to document a bit of this cool collaboration. These one-of-a-kind ceramic creations will be at each participating ArtWalk gallery and will be for sale for only $5 with all the sale proceeds going to the Newburyport High School Art Department. Additionally, each gallery will select one of their greenheads as a secret special winner and the person who buys that one will receive a bag of mini whoopie pies from Newburyport ArtWalk partner Chococoa Baking Company. Added bonus: The winner at KLP will also win a $100 Gift Certificate towards a Family, High School Senior or Pet Portrait Session. We are also delighted to be having guest artist Saya Cullinan of Saya Studio Handbag Design join us with her gorgeous handmade bags, totes and wallets. So mark your calendars! Grab a map! Shout out to Mr. Smith at NHS and his Ceramics Class for all their hard work. They’ve created 100 painted Greenheads (and eight Paint-Your-Own too!) We can’t wait to get ours.
