Can’t think of a better way to end the Summer of 2013 than with a blog from the Hering-Cobb Family Portraits at Pierce Pond and my coastal sojourn in Maine. For me these first images embody what a family day together by the lake on a beautiful summer’s day is: relaxing, whimsical, carefree and fun. From early morning apple picking to jumping off the dock into the cool lake for an afternoon swim, there’s nothing like simple and pure quality family time together. And even better to have these candid moments captured to be revisited for years to come. I’ve also included some landscapes of my trip to Coastal Maine – particularly Brooklin and Deer Isle – which was equally delightful.
Au Revoir, Summer of 2013. You didn’t disappoint. It was perfect on all counts and, although lamenting the loss of light and warmth as the Fall begins, KLP is excited for all the upcoming sessions on both the East and West (Seattle!) Coast. Let the new day begin.
“Summer afternoon—summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language.”

In loving memory of sweet little Gretchen whose life ended too soon. xx
“Listen! The wind is rising, and the air is wild with leaves,
We have had our summer evenings, now for October eves!”
